Writing Social Media Posts

LLMs can produce creative and relevant copy for social media posts, adapting to various tones and styles to match your brand's voice. For example:

Crafting Responses to Comments

By understanding the context and sentiment of user comments, LLMs can help you to manage community interactions and maintain positive engagement.

Suggesting Hashtags

LLMs can analyze trending topics and suggest relevant hashtags, increasing the visibility of posts and helping them reach a wider audience.

Developing strategy

You can get LLMs to help you with your social media strategy. There are lots of ways you might do this, but here’s one example.

Imagine that, as part of your social media strategy, you want to segment your audience and create custom content for individual segments. LLMs can help with both stages. Here’s a possible workflow:

Audience segmentation:

  • Data Preparation: Start by collecting and organizing interaction data from your social media platforms, such as likes, comments, shares, click-through rates, and any demographic information available.

    • Most social media platforms offer built-in analytics tools for this, but you can also use third-party social media management tools that provide a bit more functionality.

    • If you’re doing this on a small scale, you could collect the data manually, recording it in a spreadsheet.

    • Alternatively, you could gather data by running a user survey. For discussion of this, see Questionnaires

  • Initial Insights Summary: Create a summary of trends and patterns you have observed in the data, such as topics that generate high engagement, common questions or feedback, and noticeable differences in interaction types across posts. Make sure to respect your users’ privacy while doing this: we advocate only using metadata (e.g., 30% of users want to improve their relationships) rather than individual data (e.g., Jeff Magnum wants to improve his relationships), and you should act only in accordance with your organization’s privacy policy and any laws that might be relevant (e.g., GDPR). Once you have compiled this data, save them into a PDF document that you can upload to the LLM you’re using.

  • LLM-Powered Segmentation Prompt: Craft a prompt for the LLM to suggest potential audience segments. For example:

Creating custom content:

Once you have a list of audience segments, you can use an LLM to create custom strategies aimed at each segment. In our example, below, we uploaded a list of all our content to the LLM and asked for its input. This can be great for generating new ideas, even if you don’t do exactly what the LLM suggests.

✉️ Send us your prompts! ✉️

If you have suggestions for additional uses of LLMs, we'd love you to send them to us (including an example prompt) at info@clearerthinking.org. If we like them, we may add them to our library and credit you where they appear.
