Generating creative ad copy:

You can use simple prompts like “please write text for an ad to promote a new radio station that plays 80s and 90s hits”, but if you want to get the most out of an LLM, you should give a detailed prompt. When using LLMs to generate ad copy, here are some details you can consider including:

Definition of the Product or Service: Clearly describe the product or service you want to advertise, including its key features, benefits, and unique selling points. These can then be

Target Audience: Specify the demographic and psychographic characteristics of your target audience, including age, interests, values, and pain points.

Tone and Style: Decide on the tone and style of the ad copy, whether it's formal, casual, humorous, or inspirational, to ensure it resonates with your target audience.

Objective: Define the objective of the ad copy, whether it's to increase brand awareness, generate leads, promote a special offer, or drive sales.

Examples or Preferences: If you have any specific phrases, slogans, or ideas you'd like to include or avoid, mention them to guide the LLM's output.

Here's an example in action:

Writing product descriptions

If you want to use LLMs to write product descriptions, it’s worth keeping in mind some features you may want your prompts to have, such as:

  • Specificity and detail

  • A definition of your audience

  • Description of the tone and style you want

  • Description of the features and benefits of the product

  • Examples of existing product descriptions that you like

  • A request for multiple versions

Here is an example using most of these suggestions, but remember: you don’t need to put this much effort in - you can always use a simple prompt like “please generate several product descriptions for a yoga mat made of sustainable, biodegradable materials, called EcoMat”:

Enhancing email marketing campaigns

Attach the text of your email marketing campaign, and ask for feedback on it. We suggest using ideas from the corrections / editing section, to get the most out of this use case.

Drafting blog articles

You can use LLMs to help streamline the process of writing blog posts. You'll probably find that they can't write quite well enough to produce something good enough by themselves (even with a very good prompt). You'll have to iterate. Here’s a suggested workflow, from which you can take as many or as few items as you like:

  1. Outline Your Topic: Clearly define the subject of your blog post. Identify the main points you want to cover, the questions you aim to answer, or the narrative you wish to tell.

  2. Gather Information: If your blog post requires research, compile key information, data, and sources related to your topic. This will help the LLM generate more accurate and informative content. You can put these all into a document and attach it to your prompt.

  3. Define the Tone and Style: Decide on the tone and style of your blog post. Whether it's informative, persuasive, casual, or formal, this will guide the LLM in creating content that matches your blog's voice.

  4. Craft a Detailed Prompt: Combine all the above elements into a detailed prompt for the LLM. Include your topic, main points, desired tone, and any specific phrases or keywords you want to be included.

  5. Generate the Draft: Use the LLM to generate a draft based on your prompt. You might need to break the task into sections, such as introduction, body, and conclusion, for more manageable outputs.

  6. Review and Revise: The LLM's output will serve as a (sometimes partial) draft. Review it for accuracy, coherence, and engagement. Edit the content to add your personal touch, ensure it aligns with your blog's standards, and verify any facts or data presented.

  7. Enhance with Personal Insights: Incorporate your own insights, experiences, or unique perspectives to make the post more relatable and original.

  8. Optimize for SEO: If applicable, optimize the content for search engines by including relevant keywords, meta descriptions, and title tags.
